Hello. My laptop's headphone input is not working. Lately, it has been fine, but today, the sound stopped playing from my headphones. I know its not the headphone's fault because I tested my various headphones, and they do not work with the computer, but they work with other audio devices. In addition, the computer recognizes that the headphones are plugged in, yet no sound is playing. Furthermore, it's not a driver issue since uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers didn't work at all.

Is there a way to solve this issue besides buying a USB headset / audio device? I am using an Asus Q550LF which I purchased September 2014.

EDIT: Whenever I plug in my headphones, I can hear some sort of static-y sound. I also heard that resetting the computer's static can help with the issue, but unfortunately the computer's battery is irremovable unless I remove the case, which I am sure voids the warranty.
