No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer

I had just recently installed Windows 7 onto my gateway ne56r. I had to format the previous partitions to install it. I installed it and now i have no internet. When i select troubleshoot Windows says that i need a driver. I downloaded the one i think i was supposed to from here. But now before it is done installing it gives me an error of:

Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer
