Problem Getting My External Mouse Working for My Acer Aspire Lap

Hello,

Hello my external mouse just stopped working on my ACER Aspire. The keyboard does work and the touch pad. I like using an external mouse. I have got a new mouse it also does not work. Can anyone help with some information that can help be get my external mouse working on my laptop.
