Laptop is not starting without plugging to the power source

Hello,
my laptop is not starting without plugging to the power source . it shows plugged in charging but shows 0 percent . when the plugged power source is switched off my laptop automatically stop working. it only works when plugged in .
it is not even charging ..kindly tell me the solution
