Laptop won't boot, no recovery disc

So we have a two month old Acer laptop, works great, no probs until yesterday. We bought it with Windows 8 and directly upgraded to 10. Yesterday when Windows was finished loading we had an error message lsomething ike' Startmenu and cordana failed, sign off' If you signed off and restarted it just repeated itself. I opened task manager and restarted in safe mode (thought I would go back to a previous repair point) but I couldn't access any of the menus. I restarted again and Windows automatically started installing an update and since then I just get this screen...

I can't get any further, can't get into safe and I was provided with no recovery disc at all when we bought the laptop online and haven't made one...

It's still under guarantee but I guess software issues prob aren't covered. Is there anything I can myself or am I going to have to suck it up and pay somebody to do it?
