Hello,
Am kinda new here and I have an issue I hope you guys can help me with.
I was using my Windows 7 starter to browse using my hotspot. So, I download a new Anti-virus software (Avast) and then un-installed the former one which was Norton. The Avast requested me to restart my computer which I did sucessfully, then on loading the logon screen, it brought a black screen with a cursor. I tried pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL but, nothing showed up. Please, am confused. I will appreciate your concern.

May be the avast you installed recently may be not compatible or crashed one. I suggest you to switch off the pc, now switch it on and try to press F8 until you got safe mode screen.

After that try to select safe mode and then go to start-->in search box type system restore--> in the list appear select the restore points that the computer works good before installing AVAST. and press ok. Now restart your pc.
check out the results and post back.

Good luck.

Well, it was just loading some drivers in this form
Loaded: \windows\system32\drivers\(with some words I don't understand) ending with '.sys'

if you are using windows 7 in your PC this may help you
what you need to do is to Reinstall graphics card driver. Press and hold down the following keys: Ctrl + Alt + Delete, to access the Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab and find "explorer.exe". Right-click on the selected process and select "End Process". Create a New Task by clicking "File" and "New Task" (Run).

Ambucias, Thanks for the link. Well, looks like my computer is more crazier than that. I pressed the F11 and nothing shows still.

You give me the impression that you have not carefully read all of the options given by HP.
Thank you very much. My problem is solved. Good as new.
