Speaker re-set issues

Hello,
I'm having trouble with speaker continuity.
Every time I pause music, or the computer goes to sleep, when I start the music again (or any other sounds) I have to re-set both Flip-3 and the laptop speakers for sound to happen again when I start playing. It takes a few minutes each time - have to disable and enable both speakers. Why doesnt it just continue when I press play??
