Managing contact list

i am looking for a program / code which can be used to keep records of person contacts , address , phone number , dob , id card no , mail id , office name , office address etc.
The data base should be able to update it with minimal intervention when ever a new contact details of the already existing person comes up in a designated separate xls sheet / workbook.

The data base could be increased in columns / rows of new records when ever required .
