Excel 2013 Format Time cells not to include date

Hello,

I am trying to create a simple time sheet with cells formatted as h:mm AM/PM. I have formatted the cells through this option in the Custom category however the cell continually displays as d/mm/yyyy h:mm:ss AM so if I type in the time as 10:00 AM it will display 10/01/1900 12:00:00 AM in the cell.

How can I override it so it doesn't include the date in the time function?

My regional settings in the CP are correct and matches my Excel location as Australia. I have tried all other format options and they all give me the same result.
