Unable to use internet access through wifi

Hello,
Still facing problem while installing wlan drivers in windows 7 OS and unable to use internet access through wifi though the wifi toggle ON. Prompting with "installation failed". Is it compulsory to install the drivers through original dell drivers disk provided along with laptop. Please send some suggestions.
