Transfer some music from my laptop to my iPod

Hello,

Surely (really very sorry to say) this man Er..Mr.Jobs has put people on Hard path whether its iPad, or iPod or iPhone, its pretty cumbersome.
The thing is I want to transfer some music from my laptop to my iPod. But came to know that one has to copy in bulk and not individually as one desires. So also in deleting. please show me a way how can I do this with itunes or any other software if its possible.
