Sims 3 crash help

Hello,
I have had the sims 3 for years and i have always played it on my HP computer but a few months ago it started crashing like 10 minutes into the game no matter what i try it always crashes and says the same message "the sims 3 has stopped working" it used to happen before but only when i played it for like hours on end, but it seems since i downloaded the sims 2 and 4 it has gone haywire PLEASE help i dont know what to do anymore
