HDMI: no signal

Hello,

My son just built his first gaming computer. Connected a monitor via HDMI. Turned the power on and we can see all the fans work, but the monitor reads "HDMI: no signal". We should be seeing the Bios screen pop up, but instead the screen is blank.

What should we be checking? Thank you!
