Headphones are not working with laptop but working with phone

Hello,


my headphones are not working when I plug it in the slot but it is working on other devices now what I had to do ? I had tried to solve this problem in sound option but there in headphone 'set default is not in raised letter so I cannot click on it .pls recommend some settings or another software for this.
