Toshiba Satellite Pro L500 goes off upon power up.

The power and charging LED indicators are indicating well, but when I press the power button, the power indicator in the front penal flashes and cuts off again immediately. however, when I leave it on charge for a day and tried switching it on, it takes 5-6 seconds to come on and than goes off again. I tried removing the battery and powered it up but still cant notice any changes.
