I'm trying to re-install windows XP on my Acer Aspire one ZG5. Since it does not have a CD drive i am using a portable one. Anyways, the CD starts working and then after a minute or two i keep getting a blue screen. I don't have the option in the bios menu to change anything other than the time, boot from options and changing the password.

I came across this,

BE SURE that you put the Hard Drive on "Compatibility" mode in BIOS, which was defaulted to "AHCI" (Compatibility is also known as IDE).

Otherwise, you will experience the "blue screen" issue. To change that setting, you need to do the following:
1. Press F2 when booting up the computer
2. Select 'Config', then 'Serial ATA (SATA)'
3. Change controller option to 'Compatibility' / 'IDE'

But like i said, i don't have the option to do that.
Is there anything else i can do to get this to work so i can freaking reinstall windows XP??!!
