Format cell's currency

Hello,
I am working with a drop down list that includes 7 or 8 account numbers to choose from through data validation. Various bills are paid from each account and in different currencies. Is there a way to format a column so that when I select a U.S.A. bank account in cell A1 and enter a number X in B1 that it will automatically become $X in cell B1? If a certain UK bank account were selected in A1 and X was entered, to automatically become €X? Thanks everyone.
