Lenvo 0873/ g555 laptop not working.

Hello,
I have a lenovo 0873 model i think its a g555. The problem i have is that the screen dosent turn on. I tried by taking the battery out and held the power button for 30 secnds and pulged the power cord back in but that dodnt work.
However i also tried putting in a vga cable on to another screen but also didnt work. Am not sure what eles to check.
As well as that i took the hard drive off and manualy plugged it on to my desktop to see if it was the hdd but the hard drive came up saying start and repair recomended i tried both but i didnt work so i deleted and formatted the partion and installed a new operating system. Once i did that i put it back on to the laptop but yet still it didnt work. I dont know what to do will someone help me out.
The laptop starts up like makes a noise like a starting noise but it doesnt show on screen. This tells me that the motherboard isnt dead .
