I was just wondering if anyone could help me please.
I have an Asus UX303LN that runs on Conexant smartaudio HD. I've had this for nearly 2 years and have been running windows 10 completely fine for about a year now.
This morning i tried to skype with my family and they told me that there was a horrible noise, like someone was tapping my microphone.
I had to cancel the call and have tried many things to find out what is wrong. I have re-installed the drivers and that's not helped. There is no problem with my speakers, just my internal microphone. When i use voice recorder and say nothing at all, whilst being in a quiet room, my microphone is picking up on a noise which is coming at regular intervals. It sounds like a scratch and then goes slightly higher pitched. It then goes away and comes back about 2 seconds later.
I am wondering what sound it is picking up on?
If anyone could help me at all i would greatly appreciate it. Even just to find out if my mic is broken or if it may be a hardware thing?
