Windows 8 black out screen with cursor issue

Hello,

I have windows 8 installed in my pc and recently after an improper shutdown my pc is working up some peoblems. I am able to log in from my account but after that the screen goes black with just the mouse cursor on it .I tried opening task manager through ctrl+alt+del but the task manager wont open ... i also tried the advanced troubleshooting while restarting but none would work ...the black screen still persists ..please help
