How to set screen timeout: Apple Watch

By default, the screen of the Apple Watch is set to turn off after 15 seconds of inactivity. However, you can tweak your settings to keep your screen awake for longer periods of time. Here are the instructions on how to adjust the screen timeout settings of your Apple Watch.

For Apple Watch Series 7:

  • Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Wake duration
  • Select the wake duration you prefer

For older Apple Watch:

  • Go to Settings > Display & Brightness
  • Under the "Wake" section, select the wake duration you prefer

From the Apple Watch app:

You can also configure that setting from the Apple Watch app you installed on another iPhone or iPad device:

  • Open the Apple Watch app, and find the "Wake" menu
  • Select the wake duration you prefer
