The rumors are true — Activision is releasing a new Call of Duty game this year, and now it has a name.

(CCM) — On Monday, Activision released a trailer for the upcoming game, dubbed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and revealed its release date. "On November 4 [sic], Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will place players on the front lines of a new war in a bold new setting," said Scott Lowe, Activision's Communications Manager, in a blog post on the new game. "Returning to the series' roots of massive-scale conflict between two warring factions, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will take players from battlegrounds on Earth to the distant reaches of our solar system." These two factions are the Settlement Defense Front and the armies of Earth.

The Settlement Defense Front may sound familiar for Call of Duty fans. Recently, Activision announced a tie-in alternate reality game on Facebook using the company's new chatbot feature. On Sunday, the official Call of Duty Instagram feed shared several snippets of the "Know Your Enemy" teaser and images of a young soldier in a "S.A.T.O." uniform. The company also tweeted a similar video with a link to the chatbot. In talking to the bot, which claims to be Lt. Reyes, you can discover that the SDF is a terrorist threat to Earth, overseen by the collective governments of the UNSA. In the upcoming game, players will be a part of the S.A.T.O. fighting force, specifically its S.C.A.R. special ops division. The game will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 starting November 4th.
