An update to the social media app provides new Snap options and makes it more like Instagram.
(CCM) — Snap has made some sweeping changes to its Snapchat social media app, including adding the option to set the Snap timer to "infinity," the company has announced. Snapchat was originally launched with the promise that pictures would only appear for a few seconds before disappearing, but now users can set their Snaps to last as long as the viewer wants to keep looking at them. "We’ve all felt the frustration of not being able to fully enjoy a Snap — even after replaying it — and we wanted to give you the option of allowing the recipient to enjoy your Snap as long as they’d like. After your friend finishes viewing the Snap and taps to close it, it will delete as usual," the company said.
The company also appears to be copying Instagram's "Boomerang" feature by introducing a new Loop tool for videos so users can decide if their Snap plays once or loops until the viewer is ready to move on their next Snap.
Snap has also rearranged the layout of its app's creative tools and added a Magic Eraser, located under the Scissor tool. The Magic Eraser allows users to remove things, or people, from pictures — blurring the background to replace whatever has been erased.
