Beats new Studio3 Wireless headphones auto-calibrate noise cancelation up to 50,000 times per second.
(CCM) — Beats by Dr. Dre has launched a new top-of-the-range pair of headphones which offers advanced noise cancelling and Apple's pairing technology.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones feature new noise cancelling technology, called Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling (Pure ANC), which alters the strength of the noise canceling to match the volume of the outside noise. The technology also evaluates the headphones' fit and adjusts for leakage caused by hair, glasses, different ear shapes, and head movements. It then compares the sound produced after cancelation with the original and adjusts this to make it sound more like the original. This real-time audio calibration takes place up to 50,000 times per second, the company claims.
The Studio3 Wireless headphones look very similar to the company's lower cost Solo 3 Wireless product, but inside they include Apple's W1 chip – also found in its AirPods – which allows the headphones to pair with iPhones, iPads, and Macintosh computers transparently and almost instantly. The headphones can also be used with Android devices, offering a claimed 22-hour battery life.
The new headphones come in a range of six colors and are available now for $349.95.
