Nintendo Switch owners may be in for a game bonanza in early January, according to a report.
(CCM) — Eighteen new Nintendo Switch titles are expected to explode onto the gaming scene next week, information leaked by Amazon suggests.
The giant retailer accidentally published a number of placeholder pages for Nintendo Switch products priced from $59.99 to $99.99, according to a Daily Star report. Each page had the name "Nintendo Switch title" followed by a number from 22 to 30, suggesting that they will be used to sell 18 new games. Likely new titles include a new Metroid game, a Fire Emblem title, and maybe even a new Pokémon game. The pages have since been removed, the report says.
It adds that some of the text on images seen on the placeholder pages suggests that the new games will be unveiled at "the Switch event." This likely refers to the next Nintendo Direct video presentation which will be broadcast on Jan. 11, 2018, according to the Daily Star.
Nintendo is also considering releasing the console and its Joy-Con controllers in new colors and has hinted that users may even be able to design their own color schemes for the hardware to make their systems unique. "There's a lot of joy to be had from hand-making something yourself or having all of those customizable possibilities, and we absolutely embrace that. We love to see that," Shinya Takahashi, a Nintendo general manager, said in the report.
