Samsung collaborates with the uBreakiFix repair service to offer same-day repairs for Galaxy phones in the U.S.
(CCM) — Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday its partnership with the uBreakiFix repair service, allowing it to offer same-day repairs for its Galaxy devices. Owners of damaged Samsung Galaxy smartphones can now schedule appointments online or drop off their devices at any of the uBreakiFix repair service shops that are available at more than 300 locations in the U.S. metro areas.
Authorized uBreakiFix stores offer screen replacements, camera repairs, battery replacements, port repairs, and more for Samsung phones ranging from the Galaxy S6 to the latest Galaxy S9. The service promises a two-hour or less turnaround time for devices submitted for repairs. However, this promise is subject to slight changes depending on the extent of damage one's phone has suffered.
In a statement, Senior Vice President of Customer Care at Samsung Electronics America, Michael Lawder, said: "This announcement marks a fundamental shift in our care offerings to consumers and underscores our commitment to provide Samsung customers with support anywhere, anytime our customers need it."
Previously, Galaxy owners did not have many options to get their devices repaired. They were limited to either calling or chatting with a Samsung representative or finding a repair service on their own. There was also an alternative in the form of Samsung's Premium Care service, which costs $11.99 a month and offers both in-person and virtual support.
