Recent reports hint that Apple is launching a red color variant of the iPhone 8.
(CCM) — Staying true to recent rumors, Apple will finally roll out a red color variant of its iPhone 8. According to a leaked internal memo from Virgin Mobile, Apple plans to introduce the new color on April 10, 2018. The company seems to be taking the leap to boost overall sales of the iPhone 8. With other rumors swirling that it will do the same for iPhone X, the assumption is that a plan to boost sales is also in the works for the newer device.
The new red color is a result of the company’s partnership with (RED), an advocacy group aimed at fighting HIV/AIDS in Africa. Over the years, Apple has released several special (RED) editions of its products, such as iPods, iPads, and cases. Last year, it released a red edition for the iPhone 7 Plus.
iPhone 8 features a 4.7-inch LCD HD display and is powered by an A11 Bionic chip, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It boasts a 12 MP f/1.8 primary camera, with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) and autofocus. It also has a 7 MP camera on the front and comes with a 64 GB or 256 GB storage option. A 1821 mAh battery powers the phone.
