Alexa Skills Blueprints allow users to build skills in minutes without any technical knowledge.
(CCM) — Amazon has launched a new tool which makes it easy for anyone to create their own skills for their Echo devices, without the need for any programming or technical knowledge.
The Alexa Skill Blueprints website contains more than 20 templates that can be used to create skills of various types including Storyteller, Trivia, Facts, Family Jokes, and Quiz.
To create a skill a user simply types in information such as quiz questions and answers, and then provides a name for the skill. The website then generates the skill, which can be invoked on Echo devices linked to that user's Amazon account. The skill will not appear in Amazon's skill store, nor will it be available on other Echo devices that are not linked to the account.
At launch these skills can only be accessed by Echo devices which are set to U.S. English, so Echo users in other countries need to use the Alexa app to access their device's settings and change its language to U.S. English if they want to access their own skills.
All skills made by a user can be accessed in the Skills You've Made section of the Alexa Skill Blueprints website, where they can be edited, updated, or deleted.
