Tinder Rolls Out Flirty Profile Gifs
Users can now attract potential partners with two-second looping videos of themselves.

(CCM) — Tinder users can now spice up their profiles by using looping animated videos of themselves instead of static images.

The new feature, which Tinder is calling "Loops,” enables users to attract right swipes using short video sequences of themselves turned into animated Gif images, according to a Tech Times report.

"You get two seconds of looping video to show more personality, which is the best way to get more right swipes," a Tinder spokesperson explained in the report. "You can be flirty, you can be fun, but no matter what, be you."

Tinder has made adding a "Loops" profile Gif relatively straightforward. Users simply record a video of themselves and tap the "Add Media" button in the Tinder app to upload it to their profile. They then drag a time strip to cover the two second portion of the video that they want to be turned into the looping video.

Tinder has also increased the number of profile pictures that a user can have from six to nine, to give potential dates a better impression of what the user really looks like.

"Loops" was previously tested in Canada and Sweden, and proved to be extremely popular, the report says. The feature is now being rolled out in an update for iOS devices in the U.S., Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and Western Europe.

An Android update offering "Loops" is likely to be released in the near future.
