Amazon Alexa Now Answers Old Questions

Amazon Alexa Now Answers Old Questions
Amazon Alexa can now not only learn new information, but it will notify you when it has.

(CCM) — Amazon has announced that Alexa can now notify you when it has found the answer to a question that you have previously asked it to answer, but to which it did not have the response.

The new feature, called “Answer Update,” was first discovered by digital voice assistant blog Voicebot, after Alexa proposed updating the user of an answer to a question that it does not currently know how to answer. According to Alexa, Answer Updates can be explained as such: “If you ask me a question and I don’t know the answer, but I find out later, I’ll notify you.”

Before the update, Alexa responded to unanswerable questions with some variation of “I don’t know that, but I’m always learning.”

However, with Answer Updates enabled, Alexa will send the user a notification when it learns the answer to an old question. After the expected rollout next week, you can activate Answer Updates by saying: “Alexa, turn on Answer Update.”
