Animal Crossing Comes to Nintendo Switch
Nintendo will bring some high-profile titles to the Switch console in 2019.

(CCM) — Animal Crossing, Nintendo's hugely popular animal community simulation game, is finally coming to its Switch console, the company has announced.

Isabelle, the cuddly canine assistant from Animal Crossing, will also feature in Super Smash Bros, Nintendo's fun beat-em up series which uses characters from its other games.

Nintendo also revealed a whole raft of other titles that will be ported to its latest console, including Final Fantasy VII, IX and X, Katamari Damacy Reroll, Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, and Yoshi's Crafted World.

The company also plans to bring several popular board games including Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, and Carcassonne to the console.

All of these new titles will be released in 2019, according to the company.

Nintendo has also announced a set of wireless controllers which have the same design aesthetic as its original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) console. The controllers will only be available to subscribers of its Switch Online digital service, which is due to launch on Sept. 19, 2018.

The service has been deliberately priced well below Microsoft's Xbox Live and Sony's PlayStation Network, at $3.99 per month or $19.99 per year, in order to attract large numbers of subscribers. If the strategy succeeds it will make it easier for the company to attract larger game publishers' online titles to the console.
