Apple Teams Up with Genius
Apple has partnered with Genius to integrate its tunes into the lyrics website's interface.

(CCM) — Genius announced today in a blog post a partnership that would see it integrating Apple music into its lyrics pages. The lyrics website, launched in 2009, has built a reputation of being highly accurate in its song interpretations, which are often validated by artists via video and text contributions. And starting today, Apple Music is the official music player for Genius, allowing Apple Music subscribers to play full songs from within the Genius interface once they've signed into their accounts.

This partnership is two-way, with Apple Music integrating Genius lyrics into the information pages for all songs that have been covered by the lyrics website.

"Being able to read lyrics and annotations on Genius while you listen along on Apple Music is a dream Genius experience," said Ben Gross, Genius’s Chief Strategy Officer. "We’re proud to make Apple Music our official music player, and we’re doubly excited to bring Genius lyrics to their amazing platform."

The Apple Music player is currently available on Genius.com for desktop and iOS mobile web as well as in the website's iOS app. It is unclear when the Genius encyclopedia of lyrics will be integrated in Apple Music's app.
