Smart Speakers Get Black Friday Boost
Consumers will be able to buy Amazon Echos and Google Homes at steep discounts on Black Friday.

(CCM) — The popularity of smart speakers with intelligent assistants has exploded over the last year or two, and Black Friday promises to be a huge sales day for Amazon's Echos and Google's Home devices.

That's because the likes of Best Buy and Target are planning to slash the prices of current and older generation smart speakers for one day only, according to a report on Digital Trends.

For example, Amazon's new third-generation Echo Dot speaker is normally priced at $50, but both Amazon and Best Buy will be offering it for just $25. Target, meanwhile, will offer it at $24. Best Buy will even be offering one for free with the purchase of Amazon's Ring Video Doorbell.

Amazon will also be offering its new Echo Plus for $110, a $40 drop from the regular price of $150, while Target will be offering the same device for just $69.

The price of a Google Home will also be slashed for Black Friday: Best Buy will offer the $129 smart speaker for $80, while Target will drop the price even further to $79. And Google's Home Mini, a device similar to the Echo Dot, will be reduced from the normal price of $49 to $25 at both Target and Best Buy.
