Tinder ‘Spring Break’ Mode Matches Travelers
Tinder University will launch ‘Spring Break’ mode for partyers looking to match during vacation.

(CCM) — Tinder University, Tinder’s college student-focused offshoot, will launch “Spring Break” mode in the application, allowing spring break travelers to meet up with one another during their vacation.

From March 4 to March 31, university-enrolled users will be able to match with other Tinder U members before they even reach their destination. During this time, users will able to see other users who have notified the app that they will traveling to one of 20 iconic spring break spots, including Miami, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, Cabo, and more, according to a report by Fox News. They will be identified by the spring-break themed badge on their profile.

This new feature is simply a response to a trend of which Tinder has long since made note: an increase in activity during March in areas to which spring breakers generally flock. Last March, for example, Texas’ South Padre Island saw a 100x uptick in user activity, compared to the month before. While this is Tinder’s first try at an event-centric matchmaking initiative, the project appears to be a test that could expand to other global areas and periods if successful.
