Verizon Reveals 5G Pricing
The new Ultra Wideband service will only be available to Verizon subscribers on unlimited plans.

(CCM) — Verizon has finally spilled the beans on the cost of its new 5G Ultra Wideband service which will launch on April 11.

The company will offer the service to subscribers of one of its unlimited plans, such as Verizon Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited, or Above Unlimited, at a cost of $10 per month on top of the cost of the existing unlimited plan. Verizon is also offering the first three months free, but it is not clear if this is a promotional offer that is available for a limited time.

The 5G service will be launched in Chicago and Minneapolis, but more than 30 more cities will be added later in the year, the company said in a press release.

To take advantage of 5G speeds, subscribers need a 5G-compatible phone. The only suitable offering that Verizon has is the Moto Z3 handset, which requires the 5G Moto Mod — a separate device — to make it 5G compatible.

On March 14 only, customers that order a 5G Moto Mod will be offered a free Moto Z3 if they activate a new line of service on a Verizon device payment plan, according to the press release.
