The smartphone companion is now available as a tiny phone with its own number.

(CCM) — Palm has decided to make its diminutive Palm Phone available as a standalone product through Verizon for just $199, Tech Times is reporting.

The Palm Phone was originally launched in November, 2018, priced at $349. At the time it was offered as a backup phone for people who did not want to bring their main phone to the gym, or while out mountain biking, or perhaps at a crowded sporting event. But now Verizon is offering the 3.8-inch device with its own phone number and data plan.

The device itself is powerful despite its compact nature. It is powered by a Snapdragon 435 processor and equipped with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space, and it runs a modified version of Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone can run any Android app which will run on the standard version of Oreo.

Palm has had to make some compromises to make such a small device, and the phone only has one physical button which works as the on/off button and doubles as a button to summon Google Assistant. A capacitive button beneath the display also helps users to navigate through the phone's various functions.
