Three iPhone 11s to Launch This Fall
Apple's 2019 smartphones will have three rear-facing cameras and offer a new feature called 'Smart Frame.'

(CCM) — Three new iPhones will be released later this year, all featuring the powerful new Apple A13 "Cebu" chip, according to a 9to5Mac report.

The new devices will replace the current iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, but while the first two will feature 3X OLED Retina displays, the last will sport a 2X Liquid Retina display similar to Apple's current generation iPhones. All three will offer the same resolution as the current phones, according to the report.

Some commentators noted that the new iPhones would do away with the Lightning port and replace it with a USB-C port similar to that found in last year's iPad Pro, but the report says that people who have seen the devices have confirmed that the Lightning port will remain.

The new iPhones will feature a new "Taptic Engine" which allows the devices to discern the length and strength of a screen tap, as well as three cameras on the back configured in a square. One of these will be a wide-angle image camera, and the front-facing camera will also be upgraded to add support for 120fps slo-mo video recording.

Apple will also introduce a new feature called "Smart Frame" which captures images and video footage outside of the area in the camera's digital viewfinder, allowing users to reframe the picture or video later. The extra image data will be retained for a limited period before being deleted automatically, according to the report.
