Everything we know so far about the AirPods Pro 3

The anticipation for the next generation of AirPods Pro is growing. Apple is already working on developing new features with the help of iOS 18, these are Apple's future plans for the AirPods Pro 3.

Mark Gurman, a respected Apple journalist, reveals that Apple is considering expanding the capabilities of its popular AirPods with the introduction of iOS 18, potentially introducing a hearing aid mode. While the current "Live Listen" function aids hearing-impaired users by transmitting sounds from the iPhone to the AirPods, discussions are ongoing regarding further enhancements, such as the "Conversation Boost" for AirPods Pro, which improves audio quality during nearby conversations. Though specifics on implementation remain unclear, Gurman suggests that the focus will be on improving accessibility features.

The AirPods Pro 3 is anticipated to feature several upgrades and new features compared to its predecessor. One significant improvement is expected in the processing chip, potentially introducing a new, faster H3 chip to enhance performance. Additionally, there may be advancements in active noise cancellation (ANC) technology, aiming to further reduce external noise for a more immersive listening experience. The design of the Pro 3 is likely to remain similar to the Pro 2, maintaining the iconic bud-and-stem design and touch-capacitive controls. Another anticipated enhancement is the adoption of USB-C charging, aligning with Apple's transition away from Lightning ports. While specific details on new features are yet to be confirmed, the Pro 3 is expected to offer improved sound quality, enhanced ANC capabilities, and possibly new functionalities to differentiate it from other AirPods models.

So when can we expect the next generation of AirPods Pro? It's doubtful we'll see the AirPods Pro 3 in 2024; instead, 2025 seems more plausible, according to recent reports from Bloomberg and previous rumors. Bloomberg indicates that Apple will introduce two new models of AirPods in late 2024, namely the AirPods 4 and AirPods Lite, postponing the release of the AirPods Pro 3 until 2025. Considering Apple's past release schedule, which saw nearly three years between the original AirPods Pro and its successor, a late 2025 launch for the Pro 3 aligns with expectations. Recent leaks of Apple's roadmap also suggest the focus on launching fourth-gen AirPods, leaving little room for the Pro 3's debut. As for pricing, the current AirPods Pro 2 is priced at £249 / $249 / AU$399, but it's anticipated that the Pro 3 will maintain a similar price point
