Cant burn dvd movies on dvd-r

Hello,
Ive been trying to burn a dvd on a dvd-r, i have express burn and when i push burn it says that my burner is not compatiable w dvd-r , i dont know what to do, do i need a new driver? I am able to burn music cds on cd-r's plz help

I seem to have the same problem but I managed to burn avi files onto DVD+R by using Nero, so try a DVD+R and see if your avi files will burn.
