Dvd Drive not appearing in my computer

Hello,




my dvd drive has gone missing since i updated my windows on 28 august 2009.at thattime i was using windows vista ultimate.i have checked my dvd drive,it is working in other laptops but its not working in mine.it is not appearing in device manager & bios also.i have tried removing upper filters & lower filters but it didn't work.now i m using windows 7 ultimate.it is not appearing now also.i formatted my laptop by pendrive.please help me.if iyour solution works for me, i will do any work for you.
