Tired of cold callers? Here's how to block them once and for all!
To identify and block unwanted calls, there are several very simple tricks to implement to avoid being disturbed. Between salespeople willing to do anything to prospect new clients and all sorts of scammers, unwanted phone calls are a daily nuisance. Fortunately, a few very easy techniques can put an end to these annoyances.
Blocking calls for Android users
For those who own an Android phone, a few clicks are all it takes to block these unwanted numbers. You first need to open the phone app and go to the "recent calls" section. Then, tap the "report spam" button that appears under the number in question. This number is then added to your smartphone's blacklist.
In case of an error, you can remove the number from the blacklist. You can also manually add a number to this list by going to Phone => Settings => Block numbers. In the same place, it is also possible to add to this blacklist - and thus block - callers who try to reach you by hiding their number. Simply click on "unknown numbers," the first option in the blocked numbers section. All unidentified calls will automatically be directed to your voicemail without even ringing your phone.
Furthermore, Android devices are now capable of automatically identifying spam using their own database. After opening the Google Phone app, go to "settings," then to "caller ID & spam," and check "identify callers and spam" to warn the entire Android community. Spammers will be flagged in red.
Blocking spam calls for iPhone users
To block spam calls on your iPhone, you have several options. First, you can use the built-in features of your iPhone. Open the Phone app and navigate to the "Recents" tab. Find the spam call in your call history, tap the "i" (info) icon next to the number, and scroll down to select "Block this Caller." Confirm your action, and the number will be blocked.
Another option is to enable "Silence Unknown Callers." To do this, go to the "Settings" app, then scroll down and tap on "Phone." Toggle on the "Silence Unknown Callers" option. This will send calls from unknown numbers directly to your voicemail.
You can also consider using third-party apps from the App Store, such as Truecaller or RoboKiller. These apps are designed to identify and block spam calls effectively.
