Accident

Hello,
Guys i have this GDV 720 Ultra Digital Video Camera. And days ago i met with an accident. I had connected the camera to the computer system via the USB cable. And i accidentally deleted the folders in it. The folders were MP3, Pictures and Videos etc. After that I removed the cable and i didn't really consider that this might be a problem. Later on when i was transferring some stuff from the cam to the computer i noticed that it doesn't work anymore because the folders aren't there. I tried formatting it and checking later, it didnt work. I also tried to retrieve them by making new folders.
What can i do to retrieve the folders and transfer files to the computer.
Please Help
