Dvd drive

Hello,i got a problem and i think u can solve it.

i ve connected an hard disk of 10gb containing windows98in it as slave to my cd drive cable

and other harddisk which is master contained windowsxp in it. After i had taken backup from it(windows98 as extennal drive connected to xp) i disconnected that harddisk and tried to connect my SAMSUNG dvd drive as usual.

HERE my problem comes my system when starts is checking for IDE drives and says some boot error so insert bootdisk. But i cant even open my dvd drive no then how can i put a disk in it.





i tried to connect the same 98 loaded disk to that cable then it is detected but my dvd drive is not detected what should i do???

                    have you welle checked if the first one is connected through master pin and the second one through slave pin?
