New to DSLR'S need help

Hello,
I have just bought a new Nikon D5000, have never used a SLR before. I am just wondering do I need to download sofware to my PC in order to transfer my photos from the camera to my PC. If I do could someone suggest what sofware I need to download.

Go to the Nikon web site for their supported software. Didn't the camera come with a CD of software?
