Much superior solution:
Ext2fsd - http://www.ext2fsd.com
read/write access
provides a manager that lets you control the mount points (the drive letters)
I am currently using it on winx and it is a life saver.

Problems: It only works with partitions that are traditional (created by fdisk)
It will not access other partition schemes such as gpt partitioned disks.
Windows XP, VIsta, ....etc do not have drivers to recognize the partitions in GPT drives.

Main Points It works very well that you get the impression to have only one operating system.
