I think your Video Game is not supported by the updated windows 8.1.
Hang in there...
When it comes to gaming, the OS has very little to do with anything....
Does your PC meet the HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS of the game? Something like dedicated video RAM, 4GB of RAM, VIDEO CARD VERSION xyz.....
Make certain you have met the requirements. ALL THINGS ARE POSSILBE WHEN YOU KNOW THE REQUIREMENTS!

oh..yeah..my pc has all the hardware requirements of the game...the game can be played even in the XP desktop pc...i dont know much abt the video card version...

So it looks like 8.1 breaks a bunch of stuff.....
According to what I have found, no-one plays counter strike on 8.1....
You can try this....

tried..but no use..all drivers up to date..even directx is updated..:(
