I think your Video Game is not supported by the updated windows 8.1.

Hang in there...

When it comes to gaming, the OS has very little to do with anything....

Does your PC meet the HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS of the game? Something like dedicated video RAM, 4GB of RAM, VIDEO CARD VERSION xyz.....

Make certain you have met the requirements. ALL THINGS ARE POSSILBE WHEN YOU KNOW THE REQUIREMENTS!

Age of empires 2..counter strike

Ok....
So it looks like 8.1 breaks a bunch of stuff.....

According to what I have found, no-one plays counter strike on 8.1....

You can try this....
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-gaming/window-81-is-not-working-on-my-steam-game/0e69c253-4c69-4712-b92c-27236fefb45d?auth=1

Try it and post back.....

Hang in there.....

I agree, your machine should play these(hardware). It is funny, I started this answer with OS has little to do, but here it is everything...I suspect DIRECTX.

Like I said, if that doesn't work, I am not certain. Nothing like being on the "Bleeding" (as opposed to cutting) Edge.

I will do more research on 8.1.
