i got the "NTLDR is missing" on my dell c840. ive made sure the BIOS has the proper boot settings.i know that the cd rom spins and light goes on. i figure i have 3 more options to try.

1. i can verify if the hard disk drive is properly set up in the BIOS/CMOS set-up.
2. check if i have a corrupt NTLDR and/or NTDETECT.COM file
3. a misconfiguration with the boot.ini file

before i go on with my question. am i on the right track. am i troubleshooting in the right order?
thanks in advanced for any help given.
