Hello,

My PC is no longer detecting myson's MP3 player. I have looked in device manager but can not see portable devices so don't know what to do next?
Any help would be great
Thanks

Hello Mum,

Does your son's MP3 player have a driver installation disk? If it does, put it in the CD ROM while the device is being plugged into your computer in order to install it. Also, while openning the Device manager, check if the player is recognized under Other disk drives/Other devices option. You can manually erase the existing driver for the USB root hub controller and restart your PC. Windows should automatically install the necessary driver for the USB ports.
If that doesn't help, go to the MP3 player manufacturer's site and search for a driver updates. You can try the mentioned step in other PCs too, to see if the device gets recognized.

Hope that I gave you an idea.
