IF and OR Functions Using a Date

Hello,
I am trying to make a formula that says
IF Cell is dateA then the answer is Blue If cell is dateB then answer is Green
If A9=(2017,9,9),"Blue" but adding the second A9=(2017,9,10),"Green" is where I keep losing the formula

Try to use:
=IF(A9=DATE(2017,9,9),"Blue",IF(A9=DATE(2017,9,10),"Green",""))
Is that what you want?
