Brpwsers and Email will not connect

Hello,

I have a dial-up connection. I can connect to the internet. Microsoft updates work as do updates to Avast. l Limewire works but email, chat client and all browsers cannot connect to the internet. Eaial says it cannot find pop server and the browsers cannot fint web page. I get same response from browsers whether I type in IP address or URL name. I have run antivirus and tried fxing the winsock. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
